Anne Fitch-Clark
Anne Fitch-Clark: Welcome to BPL!
I am a long time resident of Benzie County, my family having moved to Beulah from Kalamazoo just in time to start first grade at Crystal Lake Elementary. This is also where I met my husband Cameron Clark, also a new first grader! During my childhood and high school years I always enjoyed time at the Benzonia Public Library. Reading has always been my favorite activity! After graduation from Benzie Central High School in 1980, I attended WMU in Kalamazoo and earned a BS in Interior Design. While there, working at the WMU Library gave me some great experiences and furthered my love of libraries and their atmosphere. Shortly after graduation my husband Cameron and I moved to New England where I worked for the Hitchcock Chair Co. as a store manager.
Wanting to return to our hometown and our families we moved back to Beulah in 1992 and purchased the former Windermere Inn Bed and Breakfast where for 27 years we lived and worked and raised our children. We now enjoy a quiet life in the woods near the Platte River. We have two children, Hayden and Shelby who grew up at the Bed and Breakfast and who both attended Benzie Central. They now reside in Colorado and Georgia. We have a new grandson and one more on the way!
I have been a Paraprofessional at Benzie County Schools for 26 years and will retire this year, having worked first in the HS Library, at the Middle School and then at Crystal Lake Elementary where of course I have many happy memories.
I am looking forward to working at BPL starting this summer with a wonderful group of book lovers! I am also looking forward to joining the crafty library ladies, because after reading, crafting is my second favorite hobby.
