The Benzonia Public Library is a member of MeLCat, a statewide library catalog that allows patrons to search and request a loan for books, audiobooks, DVDs and other materials of interest from ANY internet connection, any time of day. Requested items are delivered to the library and you will be notified your items are ready for pickup. The MeLCat site is easy to use, you just need a Benzonia Public Library card. The MeLCat catalog includes holdings of over 400 public & academic libraries. Expand your choices!  BPL currently receives MeL deliveries three times a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons.

​On October 1, 2018 MeL expanded to include over 80 eResources!  EBSCO will become the primary vendor and quality content will continue to be offered from Britannica, Gale, and World Book. AtoZDatabases.com will provide a business and job directory as well as a criminal background search. You will find a wealth of resources at Michigan eLibrary (MeL), including:

• An upgrade to NoveList that includes K-8 Plus and NoveList Plus (one of the most requested resources)
• The full suite of LearningExpress Library resources including a resume builder
• A collection of over 200,000 eBooks covering everything from K-8 to Business
• A substantial business collection that includes case studies, SWOT analyses, DemographicsNow, and more.
• A K-12 collection that includes access to over 25 eResources with leveled readers, magazine and journal articles, subject specific eResources in Biography, History, Literature, Poetry and Science, Opposing Viewpoints in Context, and more.

• MeL is the Michigan eLibrary, a 24/7 online library for Michigan residents.
• Michigan eLibrary allows you instant access to full-text articles from tens of thousands of magazines and newspapers. Databases are available for kids, adults, and on specialized topics such as car repair, practice tests and art images.
• MeLCat allows you to order books, audio books, music, movies and other materials and have them delivered to your participating library. ​
