Benzie Central students showcasing community through oral history
November 2019 Benzie Central students showcasing community through oral history project. We are so proud to have the Remembering Benzie Oral History Project featured on the front page of the Record Patriot. We would also like to take the time to recognize our partner in this project, the Benzie Area Historical Society and Museum. Thanks to the awesome team at BAHS, all of the amazing stories being collected by the student interns will be available at the museum in the archives and as exhibits, when the project wraps up. It takes a great deal of people working together to make a project successful and we could not be more grateful for the team we have! Benzie County Record Patriot article> |
Remembering Benzie
Student Intern Training January 2020 The Benzie County Central Schools student interns had a great weekend of training with the amazing team from the University of Michigan School of Information. They learned about editing, filming b-roll, subject selection and interview protocol. The wonderful volunteers at the Benzie Area Historical Society and Museum showed the students some best practices for researching local history. Benzie Central High School Art Teacher Corey Bechler gave up his morning to allow the students to "learn while doing". He was a wonderful and entertaining subject. Many thanks to all that gave their time and expertise this weekend! The interns are doing an incredible job and we look forward to the next part of the Remembering Benzie Oral History Project! |
